I have been looking all over for a pattern like the slippers Aunt Maggie and my mom used to make and I finally found one in an old pattern book from the 40’s, and I have posted my adaptations to make it easier!

There is no specific yarn called out for in the pattern, any worsted weight will do. It can be used single or doubled. Using a double strand of worsted weight is recommended by the author.

Better Dorm Boots Free Slipper Knitting Pattern

#5. Better Dorm Boots Free Knitting Pattern

I see so many projects on Ravelry where the knitter has used my Crocodilly Mocs pattern and changed it up a bit with a ribbed cuff instead of the crocodile stitch. I’d thought I’d go ahead and write it up as a pattern for those not interested in a croc stitch cuff.

This really is, in my opinion, a better “dorm boot”. Made the same way as the traditional dorm boot, knit flat and seamed at the end. These knit up fairly fast - I can knit one slipper in 2 hours. Uses worsted weight yarn.

A simple and tailored pair of slippers to keep your feet cozy while relaxing around the house. Named for a favourite and peaceful vacation spot at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, these slippers knit up quickly, have a flexible length, and include an optional edging that is easily customized.

The pattern requires a small amount of yarn, so it’s a great way to use up a lonely ball or skein of worsted weight you have in your collection.
