10 Children's Mittens Knitting Patterns

Winter is officially here, which means colder temperatures and the need for warm accessories. If you're a knitter, one of the best things you can make this season are mittens!

Children's mittens are a particular favorite, because they're typically quick and easy projects that kids love to wear.

In this blog post, we'll share 10 of our favorite children's mitten knitting patterns.

Note - Project #1, 8, and 10 are free knitting patterns.

#2. Hidden Love Mittens Knitting Pattern

This mitten pattern is a fun, simple knit with a heart on each mitten. Because the heart is located on the palm of the hand and is knit in the same yarn as the rest of the mitten, the heart is a hidden gem that’s sure to make you smile. The mittens are interchangeable, if you’d like to wear the heart on the outside of your hand instead.

The designer recommends knitting these mittens out of a solid, tonal, semi-solid, or lightly speckled yarn. The busier the yarn, the more “hidden” your hearts will be. The mittens are interchangeable, if you’d like to wear the heart on the outside of your hand instead. The pattern also includes instructions if you wish to make a pair of fingerless mittens instead.

#6. Snowman Hat and Mittens Knitting Pattern

This design started by purchasing a cute set of buttons, and went from there! The hat features a wide ribbed brim with a seed stitch overlap which provides a place to sew those cute buttons. The crown of the hat has a classic stranded snowflake design.

The mittens feature a wide ribbed cuff and gusset thumb. The snowmen on the mittens have happy duplicate-stitched faces, and are wearing hats that match the big hat.
