#3. Hogwarts Hats Free Knitting Patterns

Here’s what designer, Holly G has to say about her Hogwarts Hats. “Blending my love for the Harry Potter series with my love for knitting, I’ve designed four knit hats representing each of the Hogwarts houses. These free Harry Potter knitting patterns are available for any crafter who’d love to rep Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin in the real world.”

“Animals are my favorite fair isle hat designs, so naturally, I was inspired by the symbols of each House. If you’d like a brush up on the basics of fair isle knitting in the round before you get started with one of these patterns, check out my guide on the technique!”

Weasley Sweater Knitting Pattern

#5. The Weasley Sweater FREE Knitting Pattern

Weasley sweaters for everyone! Just like the sweaters Mrs. Weasley made for her kids and Harry for Christmas in the first movie, this simple oversized sweater is knit in a tweedy yarn with an initial on the front. The sweater is a basic, drop-shoulder style, with sleeves knit down from the body of the sweater so there’s minimal seaming.

And because it’s knit at such a comfortable gauge and oversized, this project is great for a beginner charming up a sweater for the first time. The initial can even be worked into the front with duplicate stitch! And don’t worry about it being perfect - Molly wouldn’t!

Hogwarts Scarf Knitting Pattern

#6. Hogwarts Scarf Free Knitting Pattern

If you watch closely in the movies, Hogwarts scarves are big. For adults, aim for 65-70" long and 7-8" wide. That means each stripe is a little over three inches long. Kids' scarves, of course, should be smaller, depending on their age.

The scarves are knit in stockinette stitch as tubes. It's not as scary as it sounds - it means each scarf takes twice as much time and yarn to make, but it's also twice as warm, has no 'wrong' side, and doesn't curl the way a single piece of stockinette knitting will.
