10 Cute Cactus Knitting Patterns
I don’t know about you, but since we’ve been spending so much time in the house, my collection of indoor plants had grown tremendously.
I love having tiny green friends to take care of! Succulents and cacti are on the top of my list because they can withstand my lack of a green thumb.
And, since I like to bring knitting into just about everything I do, I though, why not knit up some cacti?
I’ve rounded up 10 fun cactus projects for knitters of all skill levels.
This post features cactus motif sweaters, hats, pillows, pen cup, dishcloth, cowl, socks, and even some knitted cacti that look so real, they will fool all the living plants in your home.
There are even some FREE knitting patterns in this succulent lineup. They are patterns #5, 7, 8, and 10.

#5. Cactus Square Free Knitting Pattern
Pattern for a Cactus square. Great as a dishcloth, washcloth or with other squares to form a blanket or afghan. There are lots more free knitted square patterns available on my website.
Both chart and written pattern are included and are very easy - just knit and purl stitches.
Of course you can use any plain yarn with the manufacturers recommended needle size, but if it is a different weight yarn it will change the size of the square. Light, plain colored yarns show up the image best.

#6. Rattlesnake Tee Knitting Pattern
The Rattlesnake sweater is largely inspired by this creepy but beautiful creature. The neckline is dotted with a series of cluster stitches, reminiscent of the snake’s rattle, but the colorwork at the bottom of the yoke also features rattle patterns. The diamond shapes that widen into the yoke were designed from the patterns of the eastern diamondback rattlesnake. However, the main theme of the sweater is the desert.
Rattlesnake features a top-down seamless construction with a somewhat slouchy fit. Optional waist shaping is included. With a colorwork yoke and DK weight yarn, the tee is warm and suitable year-round, but it might be best to wear at night during the hot summer months.
