How to Purl Faster with Continental Purling
A few months back, I posted a very popular video called how to knit faster.
In it, I show you how to knit using the continental method.
If you haven't seen it, go watch it. You'll learn how to knit continental style and really amp up your knitting.
The reason I love this method of holding the yarn is because it provides fluid movements and even tension.
It also allows you to knit/purl faster which I find really rewarding.

In the video below, I'm going to teach you how to PURL using the continental method.
Even though the way you’ll be holding the yarn is different than the throw method, the actual finished stitch is the same.

Before we get started, I want to let you know what materials I’m using in this video.
I’m knitting with Lion Brand Jeans Yarn and using Clover Takumi size US 8 straight bamboo knitting needles 9” long.
Easy Continental Purl Stitch
Just as it took some time to learn how to tie your shoelaces as a child, give yourself some time to master this new skill.
Once you get the hang of it, purling in continental is easy and effortless.
You can rewind and review as many times as needed until you know how to do it. No one is keeping track and mastering a new technique is so rewarding!
In this video, I don’t just cover how to purl continental.
You will also learn how to switch back and forth between knitting and purling across the row. This will allow you to use the continental method for anything you create!
