Donna's Recap of the Stuff it Stocking Knit Along
Well my Stuff it Stocking has been hung just in time for Santa to fill. I think it looks like a "Dr. Seuss" Christmas Stocking. It makes me smile every time I look at it which is a very good thing.
Not only was it fun but I actually got to practice a trick or two. I also got a chance to test drive a pair of Hiya Hiya steel double pointed needles and I liked them a lot. This is an excellent project if you have never made socks for yourself, and want to give them a try. Learning on a larger scale is very helpful in understanding how a sock is constructed, so when you do take the plunge, grab some fabulous sock yarn and your double points and you are poised for success (not a sorrowful mess!).
Skills covered in the Stuff it Stocking Knit Along:
- Turn a hem
- Create a heel flap
- Work gussets
- Decrease for the toe
- Graft (or Kitchener stitch method of seaming)
So, my thanks to Heather from Ewe Ewe for helping make my holiday bright and a really well done KAL!
