Let's talk about this great cowl. I have it doubled - I really wanted you to see how warm and fluffy it is. The yarn itself is Universal Classic Shades Big Time yarn. It's machine washable, just like all of the yarns in the Classic Shades collection and it's self striping.
Well, we've knit this one on the diagonal. So, when I kind of do this, you can see the gorgeous, gorgeous diagonal stripe that you get with this project. Because it's knitted on the diagonal, it doesn't curl the way a lot of stockinette stitch does - the diagonal really helps keep it pulled apart and you're not going to get the "tube" effect you get with regular stockinette.
The cowl itself measures 6 inches wide by 58 inches in circumference and it's knitted on a size US 17 needle.
Don't be scared about the diagonal! These are extremely easy to knit. You're just increasing on one side of the row and decreasing on the other. The rhythm is really nice and easy to remember. You'll get a really great rhythm down and it works up in just one night.
