Snow Day Hat Knit Along

A Little Introduction

Hello, Noble Knitters!  Knit Doc Donna here. It was great to have so many of you join us for Rachel’s Slow Curve Knit Along last month. There were some beautiful finished pieces you shared on Ravelry! Plus, I think everyone learned a trick or two along the way.  We enjoyed sharing it with you so much that, as promised, we are hosting another knit along!

We had a number of knitters interested in completing another project made using Wisdom Poems Chunky yarn that we created a coordinating hat!

About the Knit Along

Rachel's Snow Day Hat uses less than one skein of Wisdom Poems Chunky yarn. Because of it’s rib construction and stretchability, is a one size fits all, uber-comfy slouchy hat!  You’ll have plenty of yardage to complete the hat with a generous amount of yarn left over.

It's a quick 2-day knit along and we'll be covering a bunch of knitting techniques including a knitted cast-on, knitting in the round on both circular and double pointed needles, "knit front and back" increase, yarn overs with a purl stitch, and more!

What supplies will I need?

What will I learn?

Knit Along Day 1

  • Knitted cast on
  • Join for knitting in the round
  • Rib set up
  • Working the body
  • Yarn overs before and after a purl stitch

Knit Along Day 2

  • "Knit front and back" increase
  • Working the body
  • Decreasing and working the crown
  • No fear double points
  • Closing the crown and weaving in yarn ends

How do I follow along?
