New Knitting Arrival Monday!

I'm thrilled to write this post today because I actually sat down an worked out a plan so you'll know what blog posts to expect each day of the week. Monday's feature is New Arrivals. Be sure to check back every Monday to see what new yarns, patterns, and projects have arrived to peak your interest.

New from Helen Hamann
Helen Hamann Knit and Crochet Kits
I got to meet Helen (and her dog) at the TNNA Show. I was impressed at what a hands-on artisan she is. She really got involved in suggesting just the right projects and even helped us select custom colors for some of these kits.
The Corkscrew Scarf Kit (shown left and top, right), is a simple knit with interesting twists and turns. It's actually knit in sections then jointed together with a twist. The fringe on either end is different, too. One end is plain garter stitch rows, the other adds some zing with twisted stitches. The kit includes a Superfine Alpaca in three color combines: blues, pinks or naturals. Get more info about the Helen Hamann Corkscrew Scarf Kit
The Crocheted Necklace Kit is also a new favorite. The color combinations in this kit are so pretty. Each includes pretty, coordinating shades with sequins and beads. You'll be able too choose blues, reds or greens. See all available shades here. Crochet these easy to make large beads, stuff them with a bit of poly-fill, then connect them with the glass beads and sequins between.

Plymouth Sockotta Limited Isn't Just for Socks!
Now you can use one of our favorite sock yarns for another project. We love Plymouth Sockotta Limited because not only is it self-striping, it also has the look of Fair Isle knitting! My daughter just added this little cardigan (shown, left) to her "mom-you-must-knit-this-for-me-now" list. It's meant for those finicky tweens and teens because it looks like it hopped right off the pages of Seventeen. It has a cropped front, drape sides, and short sleeves perfect for pairing with a tank or tee and pair of jeans. You'll only need 2-4 balls of Sockotta Limited yarn and you can let HER choose the color! Plymouth Teen Cardigan Wrap Knitting Pattern

A Lace Wrap featuring America's Favorite Washable Wool Yarn!
For less than $18.00 in yarn, you can knit this pretty wrap! One side has a lace edge to keep it interesting to knit. It's made using Plymouth Encore Worsted Weight Yarn, but you could also make it with their variegated version, Encore Colorspun yarn (it costs a bit more, but still under $20.00). Both are easy care and machine washable.  Plymouth Encore Lace Edge Shawl Knitting Pattern
