Yarn Review: Schoppel Reggae Ombre Yarn and Free Patterns

Reggae Ombre Yarn in Brights - vivid and bold!

Reggae Ombre Yarn in Brights - vivid and bold!

Hello Noble Knitters! Today I'll be sharing my impressions of another great yarn in the Schoppel-Wolle family of fibers and it's called Reggae Ombre' yarn.

Reggae Ombre is a lightly felted yarn similar in construction to its bulky cousin PUR, but is much thinner and knits at the worsted weight gauge. I find it soft to the touch but substantial in feel.  This fiber will stand up well to often worn garments.  It is hand washable and flat dry.  It's a great choice for hats, mittens, sweaters and even throws and pillow covers.

Each ball of Reggae ombre' yarn is dyed with unexpected color combinations that manage to blend beautifully.  The color runs are much shorter, but you'll keep you knitting and knitting to see what color shows up next.. . I did!  Better yet because the dyer at Schoppel has such a great color eye, any project you craft will be special and unique. You'll have your choice of brights or neutral ombres' colorways.  Take a peek at the colors below.

Reggae Ombre' yarn is a 100% Merino single ply, worsted weight yarn that knits up at 4.5 stitches per inch on a size US 8 - 10 needle.  Each ball is 50 grams, 109 yards.

There are some great free patterns with this yarn too!
