Yarn Review: Schoppel-Wolle Zauberwolle Yarn
Hi Noble Knitters! It's KnitDocDonna and I'm here to review one of my favorite self-striping yarns: Schoppel-Wolle Zauberwolle Yarn.
This is a fiber with lots bounce, and although rustic in feel, it is surprisingly soft to the skin, and sturdy enough to hold up to heavy use.
Each ball of Zauberwolle yarn is plied with 4 strands of unexpected yet complimentary colors that when knitted produce a subtle tweedy effect. But we're not done yet. Pull apart a layer or two and you'll see that this is not only self striping, it's a gradient yarn with smooth transitioning, too. Zauberwolle is a bit more subtle in intensity than other of it's Schoppel-Wolle cousins, the color changes are still long giving your projects the visual appeal that this yarn line is known for.
Zauberwolle is a 100% Merino sport weight yarn that knits up at 7 stitches per inch on a size US 2 - 4 needle. Each ball is 100 grams, 273 yards and is hand washable. It comes in 15 great colors!
It is ideal for socks, as well as an excellent choice for scarves, hats, shawls and sweaters.
There's a free 1 ball pattern to knit with this too! The easy Zauberwrap Free Knitting Pattern (1 ball project)
