The Coquette Cowl, on the other hand, would be for me!! Funny how those of us who knit never keep anything for ourselves :)

I don't think I've used Imperial yarns, but that may be because I'm a crocheter and some yarns don't work as well with that. However, I just began a scarf using Homespun yarn knitted using the garter stitch and it's going quite well. Maybe I'll win this kit and make that my second knit project!

ReplyDeleteI am knitting a sweater with Imperial Ranch ERIN and am loving the experience. I am so tired of the over refined superwash yarns...give me a wooly wool anytime.
ReplyDeleteWe were traveling a couple of Springs ago and stopped in Sisters, 0R and I bought some Imperial Ranch Yarn--some worsted weight and also some roving bulky wt. yarn and I love both of them. I used the roving yarn and knitted a scarf using just I-cord and attaching it to itself every so often so it made a very open but interesting scarf after I felted it. It was a pattern at the shop. You do have to be careful when using the roving as it does pull apart if you put too much pull on it as you wrap when doing the I-cord but since I was going to felt it anyway it didn't really matter. I'd love to try a different yarn and especially A lace wt. yarn.
ReplyDeleteI have not had the opportunity to try any of the Imperial yarns. Would love the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am a whiz at cowls, one of my favorite projects.

I have been increasing my stash, trying to learn about the different types of yarn produced by companies that will not be found in Wal-Mart, Michaels, Jo-Ann, and other similar stores. Currently I am working on a blanket type shrug for my 86 yr old aunt. She's a fall, and the colors are spice and red. Those who have seen it so far love the colors and the touch. Soon, I'll be looking for the Imperial Yarns for my next project.

I have not had opportunity to try your Imperial yarn yet, but I would love to!! The colors caught my eye right away. The cowl is beautiful, and I know many people would love to win, as would I. Thanks for your contest!
