Easy Drop Stitch Scarf - Free Knitting Pattern
Here is another quick knitting project! I used just one skein of Ozark Handspun Opulent yarn to create a lovely woolly scarf for fall. Opulent, by the way, is hand dyed and hand spun using lovely soft mohair/wool fibers with bits of curly mohair scattered throughout - truly a treat to knit with this yarn. I chose a bright color to offset my usually drab (black/grey) wardrobe.
Completed Scarf Measures: 5 x 58"
You will need:
- 1 skein Ozark Handspun Opulent Yarn
- Size US 35 knitting needles
Cast on 6 stitches
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit 1, (yarn over, knit 1). Repeat between ( ) across.
Row 3: Knit stitches and drop the yarn overs created on the previous row - you should have 6 stitches on the needle when you complete this row.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until only 1 yard of yarn remains. Bind off and weave in yarn ends. Give a gentle tug on both ends of the scarf to allow the dropped stitches to fall into place.
Three ways to wear your scarf
Photo 1: draped around your neck, Photo 2: folded in half with tails slipped through at fold, Photo 3: tied once at neck. How will you wear your scarf?
Happy knitting!
