ReplyDeleteI love Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande. I knit 18 caps [for the 9 loving couples in my life] as Christmas gifts last year using this yarn. It's such a joy to work with & feels sooooo good!
ReplyDeleteBaby Alpaca Grande is the LOVE of my life, and was the first "Yarn Shop" yarn I ever bought. I've been using Encore a lot lately though, as I've got a whole bunch of small kids, friend's pets, and men to knit/crochet hats with. My first serious projects were two shawl/wraps for Winter using Baby Alpaca Grande (right when I was still learning to crochet, no less!). One for my stepmom, and one for my best friend's mom who was struggling with breast cancer. Baby Alpaca Grande was soft enough and not itchy to bother her, but made her really warm during the late fall.

The baby alpaca ultimo looks like it would be amazingly soft! I love to branch out & use different yarns but unfortunately most of the yarns I would like to try, I can't afford ): I would love to win something (:
ReplyDeleteI love the Encore yarns. They are such a versatile workhorse - great for all the baby blankets I make (love all the variegated colors!) and great for kids stuff. They stand up to washing beautifully - so I am not afraid to make presents out of it for people I would never give a specialty yarn garment too because I know they wouldnt know how to care for it. But the yarn als doesnt feel/look like run of the mill acrylic...
ReplyDeleteI love the encore yarns - great choices of color and easy to work with.
