WIP Wednesday + Baby Hat Free Knitting Pattern

What did you do over the Memorial Day Weekend? I took advantage of a lot of relaxation time and squeezed in quite a bit of knitting. The WIP (work in progress) shown here is a cute little baby hat that I started yesterday. It's working up fast in Plymouth's Sweet Caroline yarn. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I love Sweet Caroline. It's a very soft, smooth cotton with little flecks of color that randomly appear in the knitting. I thought the color pattern would be very predictable, but the fact that it's not is a treat - not knowing where the next bit of color will appear. Sweet Caroline also has a very nice sheen to it and I love the way the stitches catch the light.

  2. Heather, I'm glad you like the pattern. After I posted it, I was thinking it would a great project to knit for a baby shower or welcome gift. Also for knitters who like to make baby hats for hospitals and charities, it's a quick and easy pattern. Enjoy!

  6. I needed to make a quick baby shower present last week, missed this pattern, I did something similar, kind of "from the top of my head", worked nicely, however I did not write the pattern down as I was knitting it. And now I came across yours. Thanks!
