Snow Day Winter Hat - Free Knitting Pattern!

Just right for keeping your head cozy on a cold winter day, the Snow Day Winter Hat! This free pattern is a quick knit project since it's knit using chunky weight, Ironstone New Wool yarn. It's a one-ball project. Make one for everyone in your family!

One size fits most.

You will need:

• 1 ball Ironstone New Wool yarn
• Size US 9 circular 16" and double pointed needles

Gauge: 17 sts to 4" on US 9 needles

1. Cast on 80 stitches on circular needles, place marker and join round being careful not to twist stitches
2. Next 4 Rounds: *Knit 2, purl 2* around.
3. Work in stockinette stitch (knit every round) until hat measures 6.25" from the beginning.

Begin crown shaping as follows:

• Round 1: (Knit 8, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 2: Knit
• Round 3: (Knit 7, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 4: Knit
• Round 5: (Knit 6, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 6: Knit
• Round 7: (Knit 5, knit next 2, stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 8: Knit
• Round 9: (Knit next 4, knit next 3 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 10: Knit
• Round 11: (Knit next 3, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round 12: Knit
• Rounds 13: (Knit next 2, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Rounds 14: Knit
• Rounds 15: (Knit next 1 stitch, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
• Round  16  Knit
• Round (Knit next 2 stitches together). 8 times.
• Break yarn and weave through remaining 8 stitches. Fasten off and weaving in yarn ends.

Gumdrops FREE SCARF Pattern

Gumdrops is a silky smooth new yarn from Ironstone. The drape of Gumdrops is amazing making it the perfect yarn for knitting scarves or shawls. This project knits up really fast.  Mine took about an hour and a half to complete.

Here is an EASY FREE SCARF pattern featuring Ironstone Gumdrops yarn

Completed Scarf Measures: 4 x 48"

You will need:

• 1 ball Ironstone Gumdrops yarn
• Size US 15 needles

Cast on 12 stitches
Knit every row until only a yard of yarn remains on the ball.
Bind off loosely and weave in yarn ends.

You will need:

• 2 balls Plymouth Multiplicity yarn
• Size US 13 needles

Cast on 20 stitches
Row 1: *(Knit 2, Purl 2).* Repeat from * to * across row.
Repeat Row 1 until almost out of yarn.
Bind off in ribbing. Weave in yarn ends.
