One size fits most.
You will need:
- 1 ball Ironstone New Wool yarn
- Size US 9 circular 16" and double pointed needles
- Cast on 80 stitches on circular needles, place marker and join round being careful not to twist stitches
- Next 4 Rounds: *Knit 2, purl 2* around.
- Work in stockinette stitch (knit every round) until hat measures 6.25" from the beginning.
- Round 1: (Knit 8, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 2: Knit
- Round 3: (Knit 7, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 4: Knit
- Round 5: (Knit 6, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 6: Knit
- Round 7: (Knit 5, knit next 2, stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 8: Knit
- Round 9: (Knit next 4, knit next 3 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 10: Knit
- Round 11: (Knit next 3, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 12: Knit
- Rounds 13: (Knit next 2, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Rounds 14: Knit
- Rounds 15: (Knit next 1 stitch, knit next 2 stitches together) 8 times.
- Round 16 Knit
- Round (Knit next 2 stitches together). 8 times.
- Break yarn and weave through remaining 8 stitches. Fasten off and weaving in yarn ends.
What are the DP needles for??
ReplyDeleteThe pattern starts at the bottom of the hat. Once the hat is decreased closer to the top it is easier to work with the remaining stitches on the DP needles.
